Editorial Standards

What this publication is, how it is funded, and what it will not do.

Editorial policy

We report on cosmetic surgery from the position of the person paying for it. Our subject is decision quality: how a reasonable adult can evaluate a surgeon, a procedure, a recovery, and a price without medical training.

We do not publish medical advice. Nothing here substitutes for an examination by a qualified physician. Where we describe risks, timelines, or techniques, we describe what is generally reported in the field — your own surgeon's instructions supersede all of it.

Surgeons quoted on background are not paying subjects, and we do not identify practices in exchange for access.

Sourcing and method

Reporting draws on interviews with practising surgeons, anaesthesia providers, and patients at varying distances from their procedures, alongside published literature and pricing collected directly from practices.

Patients are quoted anonymously by default. We do not publish identifying detail about a person's surgical history without explicit written permission.

Advertising and disclosure

This publication carries advertising and sponsored features from surgical practices and related businesses. Sponsored material is labelled where it appears.

Readers should assume that any practice named favourably in a sponsored feature has a commercial relationship with this publication.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact promptly and note the correction at the foot of the article. Significant corrections are logged here.

No corrections have been issued in the current volume.
